This weeks game between the Amish Rake Fighters and the Solo Shots is a huge game for both teams despite it being only the 3rd week of the season. Bigpimpa320: "we win this game, were in the drivers seat." said Solo Shots starting Pitcher Joe Polkowitz said in an online interview.

Joe Polkowitz, who is leading the league in Wins, Strikeouts and ERA, is having the season of his life right now. Not only is he the best pitcher in the league right now, he is backed up by a stellar defense and probably the best offense in the league as well. The Solo Shots who are 2-0 right now are riding off last seasons late a acquisition in Kevin Malloy. In his first game this year, Kevin went 4-5, 2 home runs and 6 RBI's. The team is also sparked by the talented Tim Gola, Grant Bercari, John Hull and Kyle McGonigal. This group could be the key to going deep in the playoffs. "Right now were 2-0 were executing on all levels and I think we can mantain it and hopefully we will find ourselves in the big dance." said Polkowitz. The Solo Shots think that this year could be a very special year for them. "Lately my arm has been a tad bit sore but im pitching better than I ever did before and I am willing to leave everything on the feild for the Solo Shots, it really will be special year" The Solo Shots have been together for 3 years without any acquisitions and that is why they have such a great team chemistry, but ow they look to a tougher problem, as one of their key players Grant Bercari is attending school in Pennslyvania and is not able to make all of the games. That is why the Shots have turned to a sub in Billy Berrios to fill that hole."The Solo Shots now look to replacemet player Bill Berrios for solid play in absence if Grant." said Polkowitz about Bill Berrios who is a first cousin to Joe.

Polkowitz who made the All- Star game a year ago, is looking to make his second consecutive trip and is in a good start as he threw a 1 Hitter on opening night, and is leading the league with 4 Strikouts and 2 wins. The Shots are a special team and could very well be in the hunt for that B.S.L. championship. Stay Tuned as this team is trying to approach new accomplishments.
