The Steriod Sluggers

The team is led by there Captain, Chr is Papp. Chris has been playing in the league for 3 years now. His first season as a rookie the Sluggers finished in last place and were the joke of the league. His 2nd season of play was not much better. Although they did not come in last place because of the forfeiting of 4 games from expansion teams The Young Gunz and Diablos. Last season Chris was Promoted to Captain and cleaned house. He released majority of his veteran players and replaced them with young athletic future stars. Sluggers finished that season in 2nd place in the league. Chris will be playing 3rd base when Eric Papp is pitching, and SS when Tom Potts is pitching.

Eric Papp, a 5th year player. A veteran and brother to Captain Chris Papp, has alot going for him. He has alot of pop in his bat and has the power to put the ball over the fence. Eric is also the starting pitcher for the squad. Not well known for his strike-outs. But more for getting easy outs. When Eric is not Pitching he will be playing 3rd base.

Tom Potts, a rookie last season is one of the best overall hitters on the squad. He is a lefty who hits for a great average. Although not much power in his swing, he can put the ball in the gaps. Tom will be starting at 3rd/SS and is also the Relief Pitcher.

DJ Kafer, is one of the fastest players in the league. Known mainly for his soccer skills, DJ was signed last year by Papp because he knew he could play. DJ is a good contact hitter. Even though he does not have much power in his swing he still manages to get on base. He is so fast that any ball hit on the ground, chances are he is making it to first on time. DJ is also a tremendous outfielder. Made 2 highlight real plays in one week of last years Webgems. DJ will be starting in CF/RF.

Derek Chorba, will be playing in his 2nd season this year. He is known mainly for his glove. He is a great fielder at 2nd/SS. He is not much of the power hitter but can put the ball in play. He occasionally has flashes of power as it showed in the game against the Amish Rake Fighters last season, when he hit 2 bombs. Both cleared the fence completely, but one was ruled a ground rule double because of a missed call by the umpire. Derek will be playing 2nd/SS for the Sluggers.

Jared Young, is a rookie this season. Is mainly known for his basketball skills, but came out and played for the Sluggers last season because of his good friendship with Captain Papp. Jared, not expected to really do much ended up getting 2 big hits which kept them in the game. Although the Sluggers lost Papp liked what he saw, and decided to sign him this season. Jared will be play LF/CF.

Sean Eleuteri, also a rookie this season. Will be playing 1st base. Sean has a nice bat as seen at his tryout. And is a strong lefty batter who could trick out some defenses.
