The Amish Rake Fighters Organization was Founded in the spring of 2004 with the birth of the Bordentown Stickball League.
The Rake Fighters are one of the original four teams and historically the most successful setting league records in career
wins and also winning the first ever B.S.L. World Series. However the roots of Rake Fighters stickball goes beyond that of
the organzation of the B.S.L. it founders the Martucci brothers played stickball from a young age in the cul-des-ac where
their house resides. literally with old broomsticks, chalk drawn bases on blacktop, and homerun boundaries that consisted
of neighboring houses and fences; the wheels were set in motion for the development of one of the most recognized and prolific
names in stickball. it was in 2004 when the co-captain twin duo were sophomores in High School where the name Amish Rake Fighters
came to be. when the league was organized Taylor Martucci was on a mission to find good role players that would fit into his
scheme. accompanied with his brother Evan, Mike Medina, Mike Lysczcak, Matt Vaneekoven, Joe Ecklemann and Matthew Ponticelli
they together made up the sensational seven. Naming the team was no easy task. the team wanted a respectable witty name that
would be uniquely recognizable. one fateful day starting pitcher Matthew "Meats" Ponticelli remembered a clever
name that was once jokingly used by some of his class of 05' acquaintances. the words "Amish Rake Fighters" rolled
off his tongue and was instantly adopted by the group. since that day the Rake Fighters organization has taken the stickball
world by storm and never intends to look back. the most historic franchise in Bordentown Stickball, the Amish Rake Fighter
name will echo throughout the pages of Bordentown Stickball history.
